The Poultry Handling and Transportation Quality Assurance (PHTQA) Certification website, funded through a grant from USDA and AICAPS and offered by Penn State is now available for viewing from the website: poultryhandling.org. A manual version in Spanish will also be published.
The manual covers animal welfare, safety, biosecurity and disease prevention for poultry transporters and live haul crews. Actual training will commence in 2011.
Attendees will be required to be tested on at the end of the training to become certified.
